May 21, 2010 Comic book publishers Dynamite Entertainment and Liquid Comics report they have set up a partnership to release an omnibus graphic novel collecting all 10 issues of "Gamekeeper", the comic book series created by director Guy Ritchie ("Snatch", "Sherlock Holmes").
"...The man known only as 'Brock' lives a quiet existence as gamekeeper on a secluded Scottish estate. But the tranquility is disrupted when Russian paramilitary mercenaries storm the house and kill 'Jonah Morgan', Brock’s friend and owner of the estate.
"To avenge Jonah’s death and protect a secret, Brock must turn predator and journey deep into an unfamiliar, urban underworld, plagued by a dark past..."
The former Virgin Comics property, created in 2007, is currently in development as a feature for Warner Bros and producer Joel Silver's Silver Pictures ("Lethal Weapon"), for Ritchie to direct.
"I'm interested in the visual sensibility of comic book storytelling, "said Ritchie, "so creating a comic was an obvious and exciting prospect. The moment I saw the pages, I had a cinematic vision for what I know will make a great film."
"Gamekeeper" was written by Andy Diggle and Jeff Parker, with illustrations by Mukesh Singh, Ron Randall and Ron Chan.
