20th Century Fox continues to develop a feature film reboot of
their "Daredevil" property, based on the Marvel Comics' blind, superhero character, with UK director David Slade ("The Twilight
Saga: Eclipse") attached. Screenplay is by Brad Caleb Kane ("Fringe"), who will reportedly
adapt Marvel Comics' "Born Again" comic book story arc, by writer Frank Miller and illustrator David Mazzucchelli, that originally
appeared in Marvel's "Daredevil" #227-233 in 1986. That story detailed Daredevil's fall to insanity and destitution
at the hands of the villain 'Kingpin', as well as his subsequent struggle to build a new life for himself. "....Karen Page, former secretary of the 'Nelson & Murdock'
law offices and girlfriend of 'Matt Murdock' (aka 'Daredevil') , becomes a porno actress and drug addict, selling the secret
identity of Murdock for a heroin fix. This info reaches the 'Kingpin', and over the next 6 months, he hounds Murdock, resulting
in Murdock's accounts frozen by the IRS and the bank foreclosing on his house.
"Kingpin informant, police lieutenant 'Nicholas Manolis'
also gives false testimony against Murdock, leading to Murdock barred from practicing law.
"Unaware that the Kingpin is behind his
string of bad luck, Murdock's home is firebombed, leading to him becoming unhinged, homeless and destitute, believing his
former girlfriend 'Glorianna O'Breen' and best friend/business partner Foggy Nelson are part of a complex conspiracy..."
