July 24, 2010 Adam McKay ("The Other Guys"), will direct Sony's big screen live-action adaptation of the Garth Ennis/Darrick Robertson comic book series "The Boys", based on a screenplay by Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay. The DC/Wildstorm comic books focus on the government's decision to have the CIA monitor 'superheroes' using a special 'Black Ops' team referred to as 'The Boys'. When the girlfriend of Scottish conspiracy buff 'Wee Hughie, is killed by a superhero, he is inducted to join The Boys, just as the group reforms to take down 'rogue' superheroes who are out of control.
